Welcome to the website of Callander & West Perthshire u3a, I hope you will find something here to interest you as we are now well into our autumn season with lots of interesting groups for you to join. 

Potential new members are welcome to come along to any of our groups to try them out and if you enjoy yourself, membership is only £10 for the whole year – amazing value and include as many groups as you can fit into your available time.  Our Special Speakers events are also open meetings to encourage new members.

We have over 300 members representing about 17 villages and are unique in the wide area we cover.  We hope that with the new improved public buses running, that our members might find it easier to travel to and from their village to the group they wish to attend.  

There are a couple of areas where I am requesting help.  The first is to re-establish some of our music groups, the only ones currently running being Rock Music Appreciation and Scottish Country Dancing, but previously we have had instrumental groups, singing groups and classical music appreciation, the latter being a Zoom meeting so orchestras could be seen as well as heard and could run whatever the weather.  

If you love music and fancy to resurrect any of these groups or start something completely new, please let me know, or any one of the committee members. 

The other area where we need some help is that we wish to recruit more members to your u3a Committee. It is not an onerous job, we meet every 6 weeks or so usually in The Lade Inn in Kilmahog often preceded by lunch, so we are a very sociable group.  If meeting a few of us on a regular basis with perhaps a task or two included sounds interesting, then please contact me or any one of the current committee members.  

Our branch of u3a is run by you, for you, so if there are any groups that you wish were available, please let us know.  We have a long list of groups in which people have expressed an interest, so if any of you would enjoy running one of these groups, again please let us know.  The list is below.  Janet Gaywood is the Group Coordinator and will be pleased to help you.
